Aerials Track
Partner Required

Instructions: Please wear non-restrictive clothing, shoes that absorb shock (sneakers), shoes that do not slip (no leather bottoms) , and shoes without heels. Long sleeved cotton T shirts without buttons are strongly suggested for both days for both leads and follows. For day two, followers should also wear a short or 3/4 sleeved dance leotard under their clothing to reduce friction to the side and armpit.

Beginner Intemediate-Intermediate Shag Track
To become stronger, shaggers must learn how to fuse moves, connections, and transitions together within pulse and rhythm, and that is the purpose of this track. We will focus on pulse control, turns, dynamic movements, rhythm, lead/follow and footwork. Specific areas covered will be single and double shag vocabulary, passes, position dancing, step hop variations, closed position technique, and understanding turns.

Advanced Shag Track
Experienced dancers usually already have strong vocabulary and are more interested in learning fundamentals and technique that can be leveraged into their own style. In this track we will review and apply principles of connection, partnership, turns, tricks, performance training, rhythms, fast music technique, and timing adjustment.

Comments for students :

1. For the benefit of the community and newer dancers, some advanced dancers may be invited to attend the beginning/intermediate track.

2. Since some students may be in the middle of intermediate and advanced, the promotor or the instructor may require students to take both tracks in order to be accepted in the advanced track.

3. Wear comfortable shoes with leather bottoms. Vans or Keds with leather bottoms are ideal for training sessions. No heels, and no sticky shoes.
